Musical Theatre Showcase Class (7-13 years), Wednesdays

Students will learn scenes, songs, and dances from many different shows ranging a variety of musical theatre styles. Unlike our summer musical theatre production, this class gives students the chance to hone their craft and improve for their next musical theatre audition! This class culminates in a final showcase performance. 

Teen Dance Class (13-20 years), Fridays

5:15-6:45pm

September 16-December 16

Price: $300

In teen dance, students will explore musical theatre dance techniques and learn choreography to a variety of showtunes. In class, students will learn the basics of every dance style: jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and more! The goal of SSST dance is to meet every student at their level, and gradually increase their skillset over the course of the semester, culminating in a final presentation! 

Teen Acting Session 1: Immersive Performance, Wednesdays/Fridays

September 14-November 2

Price: $300

In Immersive Performance, students will collaborate to create stories, movement, songs, and scenes all with the goal of creating a final devised Halloween immersive piece. We will explore how history shapes culture and performance, how storytelling and ritual intertwine, and how to perform for an audience that is up-close-and-personal, all with a focus on Halloween and all things spooky! The audience will walk through our haunted exhibit to be spooked and impressed by our work.

Teen Acting Session 2: Short Film, Wednesdays/Fridays

7:00-9:00pm

November 4-December 21 (Short Films will be shown festival style in January)

Price: $300

For the first time, SSST teens have the opportunity to help create and act in short films! Students will get to choose their own ten-minute plays to direct/produce/and act in. The projects will be shot from November until December. They will then be edited for a small festival showing in January!

Teen Tech Class (13-19 years), Wednesdays

7:00-9:00pm

September 14-December 21

Price: $300 

This class is designed to give teens experience working as a designer on a theatre production. Students will work to technically support the productions (both theatrical and film) this semester. 

 

Junior Creative Drama (6-8 years), Wednesdays

Price: $300

Students will learn clowning and puppetry. They will play theatre games and explore theatre exercises that prepare them for a stage performance. Students will create and use costumes and props and see what characters come forward from imaginative play.

Youth Improv Acting (9-13 years), Wednesdays

6:45-8:15pm

September 14-December 14

Price: $350

Students will learn how to make quick choices and take on crazy characters through improv exercises and games. This class is great for beginners or veterans of the stage.
